Technologies

The technologies available for today’s building owner can result in significant savings in energy and a much improved indoor environmental quality.

Some of the more common technologies are: HVAC (heating, ventilating, & air conditioning), lighting, glazing systems, control systems, & air filtration. Some less common technologies are solar, wind, and geothermal.

These various technologies can be broken down into the many solutions that may apply to a particular project. Combining various solutions can have major
impact on the total building environment. For example, in HVAC, an inefficient package rooftop DX air conditioning system for an office building may be
replaced with a chilled water cooling system with high efficiency air handlers, pumps, chillers, and cooling tower. Within these systems we may consider
over-sizing the cooling towers to improve the efficiency of the chillers and increase the number of hours a “free cooling” system may operate.

Combining this solution with, for example, replacing the lighting systems with higher quality lighting with lower power consumption and lower heat generation
will reduce the size of the equipment now required to meet the reduced cooling load.

Cadin Group works closely with our Clients to determine which solution or combination of solutions will best suit their business goals and objectives.
